The Radhuni hold onto their AA Rosette for another year.

Midlothian’s The Radhuni has had its status confirmed as one of only a handful of Indian-style restaurants to hold an AA Rosette for culinary excellence.

Last year the 120 seat restaurant in Loanhead on the outskirts of Edinburgh became one of just three such restaurants in Scotland to be awarded the accolade. It has now been informed by the AA that its Rosette has been retained.

“It is just as tough to keep this prestigious Rosette as it is to win it,” said Habibur Khan, Managing Partner of Radhuni.

He added: “Restaurants are checked every year to make sure they are worthy of this Award which is held by only a score of Indian-type restaurants throughout the United Kingdom. We have to be at the top of our game every single day and night.”

According to the AA, restaurants recognised with award of a Rosette “achieve standards that stand out in their local area. They serve food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients.” Criteria for a single Rosette include courteous staff providing competent service.

In September Radhuni was awarded the title of the UK’s Curry Restaurant of the Year by trade magazine Curry Life. As Executive Chef of Radhuni and its sister restaurant Itihaas in Dalkeith, Habibur’s father Matin Khan was named UK Chef of the Year.
