The Radhuni Story

Food Made With Real Care

From classic Indian curries to dishes rooted in the culinary traditions of Bangladesh — every plate at The Radhuni is cooked from scratch.

What Makes Our Menu Different?

At The Radhuni, the menu isn’t a long list of generic curry house dishes. It’s a genuine reflection of Bengali and Indian cooking — built around fresh spices, proper technique, and recipes that have been refined over years of feeding people who care about what they eat.

We don’t use pre-made curry bases. Every sauce starts from scratch, every spice blend is prepared in-house, and the result is food that tastes markedly different from what you’ll find at most Indian restaurants in Edinburgh. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll notice.

Starters & Small Plates

Our starters are designed to be shared — a way to try different flavours before your main course arrives. Expect crispy onion bhajis, delicately spiced samosas, and our chicken chat, which has become a firm favourite among regulars.

If you have a group coming in, ask our staff about our sharing starter platter — it’s a great way to get a taste of several dishes without committing to just one.

Suitable for vegetarians: Most of our starters have vegetarian options. See our vegetarian menu page for more detail.

Main Courses

Bengali Specialities

This is where The Radhuni truly stands apart. Our Bengali dishes — particularly the fish curry — are authentic representations of the cuisine of Bangladesh, made with techniques and spice combinations that most Edinburgh restaurants simply don’t offer. If you’ve never tried Bengali cooking, this is the place to start.

Classic Indian Curries

We also serve all the classics, made properly. Our chicken tikka masala is rich and deeply flavoured, not the watered-down version you might have encountered elsewhere. The lamb bhuna has a slow-cooked depth that takes time to achieve. The rogan josh is aromatic and warming.

Vegetarian & Vegan Mains

We have a strong selection of plant-based mains — dal tadka, chana masala, aloo gobi, saag paneer, and more. Every vegetarian dish gets the same attention as our meat dishes. See our vegetarian menu page for more detail.

Breads, Rice & Sides

A meal at The Radhuni isn’t complete without the bread. Our garlic naan is made fresh to order and arrives at the table warm, slightly charred, and fragrant with butter and garlic. It’s become something of a signature.

Rice dishes include pilau rice, boiled rice, and our special biryani rice. Sides include raita, mango chutney, mixed pickles, and a selection of chutneys made in-house.

Dietary Requirements & Allergies

We can accommodate a wide range of dietary needs — gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and vegetarian/vegan. Please let us know when you book or order so our kitchen can prepare your meal safely.

Menu Questions, Answered

Our most-ordered dishes are consistently the chicken tikka masala, lamb bhuna, and Bengali fish curry. The garlic naan is also ordered at almost every table. If you’re visiting for the first time and not sure where to start, ask our staff — they know the menu inside out and love making recommendations based on your tastes.

Yes — and this is one of the things that genuinely sets us apart from other Indian restaurants near Edinburgh. Bengali cuisine draws from a rich tradition of fish dishes, subtle spicing, and distinctive flavour combinations that differ from the North Indian cooking most people are familiar with. Our Bengali fish curry is a genuine taste of Bangladesh and something we’re very proud of.
